Local at the Final Table

Read some on the players that will be in the final table at the WSOP Main Event come this November, and found out that one of the young men there was a Local guy from my city in Michigan!

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 11

Well, the final 27 hit the tables yesterday, and they played it down to the final table of 9! Unfortunately, they will NOT play the final table until November, but the winner of this event gets a WHOPPING $8,546,435. EVERY player sitting at that final table is GUARANTEED $1,263,602!!

Here is the table set up for November....

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 10

When day 7 started there were 64 players, but that shrunk down to 43 in the first two levels. FOURTEEN players hit the rail during the third level of the day, and they got down to 27 before 11PM. Those 27 will return for day 8 and play down to the final table. Players left all are guaranteed over $250K....

Here are the top ten chip counts going into today's play:

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 9

They ended play early for the second night in a row! Mainly the decision was made due to the number of eliminations! Play began with 407, and after three levels, they were down to 185!

Here are the leading stacks:

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 8

They played it down to 407 and reached the cash, on day 4! Among the leaders is Phil Ivey who sets with 1,275K in chips, and is among the top chip counts. Phil has never won the main event, but has been hot this year at the WSOP capturing two bracelts so far, so don't count him out.

Also still in the field, but low in the chip counts are past champions Dan Harrington, Joe Hachem, and Bobby Baldwin....

Well, they ALL met for the first time in the Main Event on Day three, and of the 2,044 that started the day, only 810 remained with the day ended. Remember, the money bubble is at 648!

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 6

Day 2B saw a massive 2,924 players start the field, but at the end of play, there were just 1,436 remaining. Some of the notable players that were eliminated from the field include: Erick Lindgren, Shannon Shorr, Vanessa Rousso, Scotty Nguyen, Howard Lederer, Michael Mizrachi, and Cyndy Violette.....

One notable that is still strong in the field is Phil Ivey!

3. Dan Bilzerian — 439,500
4. Gabe Walls — 417,900

With Day 2A in the books, there were 630 that survived the field, out of the starting 1476. Day 2B starts today, then we finally get the entire remaining field in one room!

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 4

Well, Day 1D drew the Largest group of the first four days, having 2,809 players enter the event! That brings the total entries to 6,494 for the event. The total prize pool will be $61,043,600 with $8,546,435 going to first! There will be 648 entries paid....

There will be 1,478 for day 2A, and that action will begin at noon today.....

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 2

Day 1C of the Main Event saw an increase in attendee's with 1,697, but the expectation is that there will be significantly less players in this years event. They would need over 3K to show up today for day 1D to even match last year's totals!

Notable Pros David “Chino” Rheem, Daniel Negreanu, Evelyn Ng, Marcel Luske, and Annie Duke were all eliminated on this day!

Pro's still in the race after day 1C include: Joe Hachem (87,000), Dan Harrington (58,000), Scotty Nguyen (54,000), Phil Hellmuth (27,000) and last year’s WSOP Europe Main Event champion John Juanda (51,000).

Lets not forget Jeffery Lisandro, who emerged from this day as one of the chip leaders... he's already won THREE WSOP bracelets this year!

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 2

Well, the anticipated crowd for day 1B never materialized, and they only had 873 to start the day! This is down from last year's 1158. They played it down to 684.

Some of the notable pros that made it through the day include: Mike Matusow, Erik Seidel, Hoyt Corkins and Barry Greenstein. Chris Moneymaker and Doyle Brunson both were eliminated on this day!

WSOP Tournament Main Event Results 1

Well, day 1A is in the books, and the turnout was modest to say the least. Only 1,116 players showed up, compared to 1,297 on day 1A last year. We will have to see if the numbers increase with the weekend sessions....

When play ended there were about 800 still in the field, among those were Eli Elezra, and Phil Laak. Heavyweights John Phan, Allen Cunningham, Andy Bloch and Men 'the master' Nguyen all were knocked out of play on day one!

Event 56 - $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Six Handed: 928 Entries
Matt Hawrilenko won this event and the bracelet. He took home $1,003,163 for this one!

The Main Event Begins TODAY! There are FOUR day one's scheduled that go through Monday, then TWO day Two's, before the entire remaining field sits down at the same time NEXT Friday....

Event 49 - $50,000 World Championship H.O.R.S.E: 95 Entries
David Bach won this championship and the bracelet, taking home a WHOPPING $1,276,802!

Event 54 - $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em: 2818 Entries
Tony Veckey won this event taking home $673,276 and the bracelet!

Event 55 - $2,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball: 258 Entries
Abe Mosseri took this one down, winning $165,521 and the bracelet!

As of this writing, this event is down to two players: David Bach and John Hanson, and their chip counts are virtually identical!

Event 52 - $3,000 Triple Chance No-Limit Hold'em: 854 Entries
Jorg Peisert won this event worth $506,800 and the bracelet!

Event 53 - $1,500 Seven Card Stud 8 or Better: 467 Entries
David Halpern took this event and the bracelet, winning $159,390. Chad Brown ended up forth.

Event 54 - $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em: 2818 Entries
Day two ended with 28 players remaining in the field. Play gets back underway at 1PM today to determine the winner.

Event 55 - $2,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball: 258 Entries
Play ended on day two with 9 players remaining. They meet today at 1PM to determine the winner. Chip counts are:
